Starting TOMORROW, our good friends at ERA MN are running 6x1hr workshops on how to lobby your legislator, an overview of the ERA bills, and they´ll also help connect you with your legislators.

Third Thursdays - Virtual GOTV Round 2
Early voting started Sept. 18 and we know voter turnout will be critical in this election.
So the Third Thursday Coalition is hosting another digital GOTV phone bank evening!!
Join us to help generate enthusiasm for voting and encourage voters in six critical Senate districts to help people get registered and request their absentee ballot applications asap!

The following jurisdictions below have self-identified as still needing Election Judges for the November 3rd, 2020 General Election (current as of 9/18/20; specific party affiliation noted if relevant). If a location is short election judges then the poll will have to close!
#METOOMPLS: a CD that lifts up women, supports victims and raises money for Planned Parenthood
#MeTooMpls is an album and song writers collective created to lift the voices of women/ femmes/ trans/ nonbinary folks in Minneapolis, to support sexual assault survivors and to raise funds for Planned Parenthood. The CD release is happening September 24 virtually from the Hook and Ladder; Women’s March MN is pleased to be a sponsor.

You’re invited to participate in a digital Third Thursdays phone bank! Join us on September 17th at 6:00 pm as we call high propensity progressive Minnesota voters and encourage them to vote, either by mail-in-ballot or early at the polls. If they don’t know how easy it is to vote from home, well, we’ll let them know that. And how to do it!

What I want the police, mayor, city council and world at large to hear is that thousands protested what happened. We want change. I want them to hear the sadness and reverence in Amazing Grace and find the humanity to make that change.
Third Thursdays - Covid-19: Response, Assessment and Action in Minnesota
The focus of April’s event was the disparate impact of Covid-19 on different Minnesotan communities, and what we can do to help make sure all Minnesotans are taken care of now and going forward. Many thanks to our excellent speakers: JaNaé Bates (ISAIAH and Minnesota Covid 19 Response); and Francisco Segovia (COPAL MN); Erin Murphy, Our Stories. Our Health. It was an inspiring and informative evening.
Support the Postal Service
One of the many reasons to support the United States Postal Service now is that we need a safe alternative to in-person voting in the upcoming 2020 elections - voting by mail! For background on what’s happening, read. It is alarming that during a time when we are relying increasingly on the mail for basic necessities that the GOP is holding relief funding for the postal service hostage until they increase their package rates.
Fundraiser for Elim Church/Strong Towers Shelters a Success
Fifty people signed up to play Undie-Go, our virtual fundraiser benefitting those experiencing homelessness on April 23. Money - $900 - was raised for shelter residents at Elim Church/Strong Tower Shelters. Everyone needs underwear, and our goal was to provide packs of underwear to all residents who stay at the shelter. Elim/Strong Tower Shelters houses 40 women and 40 men and couples each night. In our time of COVID-19, residents need a place to stay so the shelters are often at capacity.

Every month, Third Thursdays focuses on a different issue that is generally linked to legislation, issue advocacy, citizen activism and/or civic engagement. This month, the subject was the 2020 census, and how we make sure everyone counts!
Women's March Minnesota COVID-19 Statement
In a time of uncertainty and fear, Women’s March Minnesota hopes to offer support and advocate for assistance in the coming weeks. As COVID-19 continues to spread, it is our duty to help protect one another throughout Minnesota. As a board and organization, we will continue to advocate for those who are further marginalized by the impacts of the virus and the actions to mitigate its spread.
WMM asks officials for transparent, accurate, and up-to-date information shared publicly through multiple channels. We strongly advocate for immediate cash assistance in the form of Universal Basic Income from our federal government, in addition to state, county, and local relief. Any emergency support must not have strings attached or hoops to jump through to best reach those who need it most. In addition, assistance to individuals and families in need must not accrue debt.
