On October 29th, close to two thousand people, from all faiths and non-believers, came together to honor and mourn the lives that were lost at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh at the hands of a hate-filled gunman. Those of us who were in the main sanctuary watched in wonder at the ever growing crowd-unaware of all of those in overflow rooms and out on the streets surrounding Mount Zion Temple who felt compelled to join this community of love. For all of the fear and hate that events of the last week have wrought upon our country, in this sacred space we were reminded of what America looks like and what we stand for- togetherness, peace, hope and a determination to end the hate and violence.

Read MoreApply to be an Election Judge!
Our Constitution demands that every citizen have an equal voice and vote in determining the future of our families, communities, and country. EVERY citizen.
Election judges are the backbone of our democracy. Do you or someone you know speak Spanish, Somali, Arabic, Hmong or any other language? This is an opportunity to make a BIG difference. Unfortunately, some Minnesota citizens with English as a second language, and needing a little help at the polls on election day, frequently leave their polling place because no one is able to assist them.
Some Minnesota citizens have not had a positive experience with government and are very intimidated by the process. Having someone at the polling place they may recognize from their community makes it less daunting.
We need your help in recruiting people to apply as election judges; especially if they are bilingual! Email me and we will get you, or those you send our way, set up: abelladonna@commoncause.org

Read MoreOn Thursday the world watched as Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified before the Judiciary Committee. As her testimony began, I sat in my car and felt the anger, disappointment and sadness consume every fiber of my being. I refused to allow those emotions to render me motionless, I opened my car door and walked up to Senator Amy Klobuchar’s office. I stood there and watched as a steady stream of our sisters, brothers and gender non-identifying siblings flooded the sidewalk with signs that read “I believe Christine,” “Believe Women,” “I Believe Anita,” “Kava-Nope.”
