Calling bagpipers, brass musicians, drums and others: Bring your talents and joy to No Kings Twin Cities

We are social activist marathoners in the Twin Cities. We have been in serious and difficult training for months. On March 28, we get a chance to celebrate our success with the No Kings marches. And just as we have runners, volunteers, cheering sections and bands who play as runners march by – we are inviting you to choose your role for the day.

We are expecting a lot of people at No Kings Twin Cities on March 28; there are three kickoff locations that will march to the Capitol. We have speakers and music planned for the stages. We have chanters and others who will lead the marchers. But it could take a long time to get folks from kickoff to Capitol. So, we’re inviting ad hoc entertainers to join us along the route, just as you might see at the Twin Cities Marathon to help keep up the momentum and joy!

We have a few requests - please:

  • Do not obstruct the march, marchers, local businesses or residents

  • Be safe for yourself and those around you – no fire, knives, anything that sounds or looks like a weapon

  • Be respectful of those around you and other performers.

  • Be family-friendly or at least child-aware

  • Do not to compete with the main program closer to the Capitol Upper and Lower Mall, which will be played on large screens on MLK Boulevard

  • Leave Harriet Island by 2pm

  • Most importantly, take pictures post and tag #nokingstc and/or send them to us

This is not something we will be managing or patrolling. It is an invitation. We expect that anyone who accepts will abide by the same expectations we have of attendees and respect the judgment and any requests from marshals

We hope to see you there!
