WMMN-AF Candidate Endorsements: Statewide Offices

It’s less than 3 weeks until election day! Good news - more than 200,000 Minnesotans have already cast their ballots, which is already ahead of the pace for the same time period in the 2022 election. Let’s continue to build the momentum for the largest voter turnout in Minnesota history. We want results too big to question!

Women’s March Minnesota - Action Fund wants accountability for the Trump regime and an end to the corruption, cruelty, illegal wars, and high costs. We’re committed to electing strong progressives across Minnesota that will protect our state, our communities, and our loved ones from the cruel MAGA agenda. Because here in Minnesota, we protect our neighbors.

This starts with electing the full slate of progressive, common-sense candidates for the statewide offices. We simply can’t let Trump, MAGA, and ICE continue to get a foothold in Minnesota. We need elected officials with experience and a proven track record of fighting to protect Minnesotans.

Women’s March Minnesota - Action Fund is pleased to announce the following endorsements for the 2026 General Election:

U.S. SENATE RACE

Peggy Flanagan for U.S. Senate

In the U.S. Senate race, Women’s March Minnesota - AF endorses Peggy Flanagan. Peggy Flanagan has her roots in community organizing and has proven herself, both as a state representative and as Lt. Governor, to be a champion of reproductive rights, trans rights, equity, and affordable healthcare. She has the experience, she has commitment. Let’s send the first Indigenous woman to the U.S. Senate!

STATEWIDE EXECUTIVE OFFICES

Amy Klobuchar for Governor & Ben Schierer for Lt. Governor

Amy Klobuchar has decades of public service, proven legislative experience, and a clear commitment to protecting the rights and opportunities of Minnesota families. As U.S. Senator (19 years), she has focused on a wide range of issues including affordable health care, workers’ rights, clean energy, election security, reproductive freedom, and protection for Dreamers. As a senior senator, she has proven herself to be a strong leader — and one who is willing to stand up to Trump. Amy is the candidate best prepared for the job of governor in this race.

Her running mate, Ben Schierer, has years of experience in local government —  12 years on Fergus Falls City Council followed by 8 years as the city’s mayor — and experience as a business owner.

Keith Ellison for Attorney General

Over the last 8 years, AG Keith Ellison has done important work to protect Minnesotans from predatory corporations. He has proven himself a fearless fighter for Minnesotans' human rights and civil rights. Repeatedly he has taken on the Trump administration over their attacks on immigrants, trans rights, reproductive rights, and has pushed back against the administration’s threats to cut education and Medicaid funding, and its demand for Minnesotans' private voter data. Keith Ellison is the kind of attorney general that Minnesota needs.

Steve Simon for Secretary of State

Since 2015, Steve Simon has overseen and maintained Minnesota as one of the nation's top-performing election systems with high voter participation, effective administration, and accessible voting. He has stood firm in the face of demands by the Trump administration for access to the state's voter-registration database. He is committed to protecting our democracy, safeguarding voting rights, and ensuring every eligible Minnesotan can make their voice heard.

Zach Filipovich for State Auditor

Zach Filipovich is a Certified Management Accountant, and the only accountant in this race. He also has municipal finance experience, having worked in the finance department of the Western Lake Superior Sanitary district. And he was a Duluth city councilor for 8 years, including serving as Duluth City Council President. His professional accounting experience as well as his local government experience means that he knows the nuts and bolts of the job of State Auditor. His opponent doesn’t.
