MN x MN 2019: Beyond the Vote
CIVIC ACTIVISt CONFERENCE - February 24, 2019
Harding High School, St. Paul
Looking to take your civic activism to the next level? Want to know more about the issues you care about? Want to learn skills and tools to help you make greater impact? Want to get connected with other activists? Whether you are interested in legislation, elections, advocacy, protests, or direct action, MNxMN2019: Beyond the Vote civic activism conference will get you ready for more effective action in 2019 and beyond.
Women’s March Minnesota is excited to be an organizing partner with MNxMN for its second annual conference - MNxMN2019: Beyond the Vote.
MNxMN (pronounced “minn by minn”) literally means “for Minnesotans, by Minnesotans.” That’s what this conference is all about. (Last year’s conference, MNxMN2018: Beyond Resistance, was a great success, with over 400 participants, 40 sessions and 70 organizations exhibiting.) The presenters are all local activists, sharing their knowledge and skills based on their own experience working here in Minnesota. See highlights of last year’s conference.
MNxMN2019: Beyond the Vote promises to be even more impactful. Choose from over 40 sessions throughout the day, focused on skills, issues or community building, plus a variety of other activities, all aimed at making your activism more effective. Network with new and experienced activists, and get to know Minnesota activist and advocacy organizations by visiting their exhibitor booths.
Ricardo Levins Morales will be the Keynote speaker for the MNxMN2019.
Ricardo is a Minneapolis based artist and activist whose vivid and powerful artworks have helped define decades of protests. The co-founder of Northland Poster Collective, he uses his art and activism to address individual, collective and historical trauma. He also leads trainings on creative organizing, social justice strategy, and sustainable activism.
Ricardo Levins Morales is the perfect start to a day of learning, inspiration and community.
