Masculinities and Violence Prevention

  • Humphrey Forum 301 19th Avenue South Minneapolis, MN, 55455 United States (map)

Hosted by Center on Women, Gender and Public Policy, Humphrey School

The year 2017 brought a stream of media attention to both violence and harassment by men against women. What can we do in 2018 to better address gender-based violence, both globally and locally? Join us for a panel dialogue on what we know about the connections between masculinity and violence and the actionable steps that work in addressing this pernicious problem. This event will provide an overview of the links, globally, between masculinity and violence drawn from Promundo’s International Men and Gender Equality Survey, followed by a comparative discussion of approaches to addressing this violence, based on Promundo’s experience abroad and by the Men and Masculine Folks Network and by Men as Peacemakers in Minnesota.
