"Our Mother Earth, militarized, fenced-in, poisoned, a place where basic rights are systematically violated, demands that we take action." - Berta Cáceres

Join us on Earth Day to celebrate and honor women, art, and creative resistance, from Honduras to Minnesota.

6:00 - 7:00: appetizers and conversation with artists, envinromental justice organizers, and community leaders

7:00 - 9:00: performances by Karla Lara, Melissa Cardoza, Me'Lea, Shona Kiki, Angela Citlali, DJ Ramses Alarcon and more!

Melissa Cardoza and Karla Lara are two Honduran activists and close friends of the assassinated Indigenous environmental activist Berta Cáceres. Melissa is an Afro-indigenous autonomous feminist, poet, and writer. She is on tour with Karla Lara, who voices resistence through song and writing. Both Karla and Melissa will perform stories from Melissa's book *13 Colors of Honduran Resistance * about women resisting brutal repression and finding unyielding hope. The theatrical performance is dedicated to Berta’s legacy.

Books will be available for purchase at the event.
