Help pack the room at the first of TWO city budget hearings to show support for the city leveraging $2.9 million/year in revenue from the franchise fee for energy programs that benefits ALL energy users of ALL incomes and types (renters, homeowners, small business, industrial) to save money and energy. The Mayor's 2018 Budget includes using the revenue from a 0.5% energy franchise fee increase to eliminate current barriers to energy efficiency and renewables AND expand existing programs.
SIGN UP HERE TO COMMENT / SHOW UP TO SUPPORT AT EITHER OF THE TWO BUDGET HEARINGS OR THE ORDINANCE CHANGE HEARING (that's right! there's 3 opportunities to show your support - facebook events below)
**Important! While, the Mayor's 2018 Budget includes this revenue stream, the City Council "Ways and Means Committee" must APPROVE raising the franchise fee on DECEMBER 4th.
If you can only show up to one hearing, please turn out for the December 4th public hearing, which is a critical step to gather the money needed to make good on the 2018 City budget.
Comment if you can, or support with your presence! Please give public comments & share stories about why access to insulation, clean energy, better heating/cooling is critical at an individual, community, city-wide and/or bigger level. There will also be much need for showing nonverbal support by wearing a button or holding a sign in City Council chambers.
