Community Read "Good Time for Truth: Race in Minnesota"

Join us for an engaging evening of conversation and storytelling at the Hopkins Community Read, "A Good Time for Truth: Race in Minnesota." The book, edited by Sun Yung Shin, tells 16 true stories as a call to listen and learn about race in our state. You do not have to read the book beforehand, however books will be available for purchase. 1.5 Continuing Education Units (CEU) are available.

About the Authors:
Sun Yung Shin is an author, editor, professor, writer in residence at the Wisdom Ways Center for Spirituality, and a contributing editor at Aster(ix) and Society Editions.

David Lawrence Grant writes drama, fiction, and memoir. He has written on racial bias in the justice system and racial disparities in the health care system. He teaches screenwriting at Independent Filmmaker Project/Minnesota.

Rodrigo Sanchez-Chavarria is a writer and spoken word poet of Peruvian heritage involved with Palabristas, a Minnesota-based Latin poets collective. He is an MFA student at Hamline University.
