power to the polls!
Minnesota, WE DID IT! We marched in January 2017 to declare women’s rights are human rights. We worked tirelessly for 2 solid years and refused to allow hate, bigotry, racism and injustice win.
Over the last 2 years women found or reclaimed their voice and their power, we stepped up, spoke up, took action and ran for office. And last night we saw when women run, women win! A record number of Native Americans, African Americans, Muslims, Latinos, immigrants, millennials and LGBT candidates ran and won last night, making history across the country.
Today we celebrate, we rejoice, we recover and we continue to love one another. Tomorrow, the next phase begins. If you haven’t yet, sign up for our mailing list. We are just getting started.
#WomensWave is coming!
Congratulations to all the women elected to Congress and governorships across the country (Washington Post, 11/7/2018), including the first two Native American and the first two Muslim Congresswomen. NBC is projecting 100 women to the House alone!
In Minnesota, we congratulate US Senators Amy Klobuchar and Tina Smith, Representatives Ilhan Omar, Betty McCollum and Angie Craig, and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan (and Governor Tim Walz), as well as all the many, many women elected to the MN House and Senate as well as in the local races.
