Unity Iftar Block Party

  • Gandhi Mahal Restaurant 3009 27th Avenue South Minneapolis, MN, 55406 United States (map)

Gandhi Mahal, MNIPL, and a host of interfaith partners welcome your presence at our annual Unity Iftar during Ramadan, a season of fasting and reflection for Muslims all over the world.

People of all faiths are invited to break bread with our Muslim brothers and sisters and enjoy conversation, connection, and festive celebration. Our evening together will begin at 7:30 pm with a resource fair, and at 8:00pm a short and inspiring program from Muslim religious & community leaders, emceed by Sally Hassan of Bloom. At sunset 8:39pm, Ruhel Islam, Owner of Gandhi Mahal Restaurant, will sing the call to prayer (Adhan) before we break fast with a full meal from Gandhi Mahal.

Over dinner we will be invited to share in storytelling circles where we will have individuals from our community share stories as we collectively and curiously dig into our own Environmental Ancestry. This is a great opportunity to get to know our neighbors, enjoy delicious food, start a quest into our own Environmental Ancestry, while learning about others. Limited seating for the full meal portion with donations of $15 welcomed. RSVP is needed, please rsvp here:
