Details: Emergency Response Protest to Huge Immigration Raids in Southern Minnesota & Nebraska
On Wednesday, Aug. 8, the investigative arm of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out huge immigration raids in southern Minnesota and Nebraska, reportedly detaining more than 130 workers who are now threatened with deportation and separation from their families and communities. MPR reports that the operation was one of the largest in Homeland Security Investigations' 15-year history. Between 350 and 400 federal, state and local law enforcement officers worked together on these raids.
Details of the raids can be found here: http://www.startribune.com/more-than-130-arrested-in-immigration-raids-in-minnesota-nebraska/490413591/
MIRAC denounces these raids and demands #ICEOutOfMinnesota and an end to raids and deportations. We demand that the state, county and municipal governments stop all cooperation with ICE in tearing apart workers' families and communities.
Join us to stand up and protest to say NO to ICE terror.
