THE EAST SIDE FREEDOM LIBRARY
invites you to "American Dream: A Film Screening and Discussion."
Saturday, September 23 @ 2:00–5:00pm @ the East Side Freedom Library
Join us for a screening of the Academy Award-winning documentary, "American Dream," and a post-film discussion with Paula Rabinowitz, Emeritus Professor of English at the University of Minnesota and author of "They Must Be Represented: The Politics of Documentary."
Paula has donated a substantial collection of books in feminist literary and film analysis to ESFL. She is contributing an essay to a new collection being assembled about "American Dream" filmmaker Barbara Kopple, the winner of two Oscars. She will be joined in the discussion by ESFL co-executive director Peter Rachleff, who was chairperson of the Twin Cities P-9 Solidarity Committee during the Hormel strike. That strike is the subject of "American Dream."
