This coming Tuesday, August 8, 2017, the Interfaith Coalition on Immigration is sponsoring a “Dignity not Detention” Faith Action Vigil at 8:00 AM at the Whipple Federal Building, One Federal Drive, Fort Snelling, MN.  There is a large parking lot in front of the Whipple Federal Way as well as a large Park N’ Ride parking lot for the Fort Snelling metro transit stop on the Blue Metro Line.  The Whipple Federal Building is easy to get to on the Blue Line.

Two sources to obtain information on what is going on locally regarding detentions of immigrants and specific detention situations are the Interfaith Coalition on Immigration (ICOM) and the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee.

“You who are called so-called illegal aliens must know that no human being is ‘illegal’.  That is a contradiction in terms.  Human beings can be beautiful or more beautiful, they can be fat or skinny, they can be right or wrong, but illegal?  How can a human being be illegal?” – Elie Wiesel
