Rally Against Concealed Carry Reciprocity Wed Dec 6

  • Minnesota State Capitol - Press Conference Room 75 Rev Dr Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. Saint Paul, MN, 55155 United States (map)

On December 6th at 11:00 AM, Protect Minnesota, the only independent state-based gun violence prevention organization in Minnesota, will hold a rally in the Press Conference Room at the Minnesota State Capitol. This week, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on HR 38, a bill would allow almost anyone to carry a loaded, concealed handgun in public in Minnesota.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 is opposed by law enforcement leaders across the country because it will put officers at risk and make communities less safe. Concealed carry reciprocity (CCR) threatens public safety by forcing states with stronger concealed carry laws, like Minnesota, to honor permits from states with weak or nonexistent concealed carry laws, like North Dakota, undermining current state permitting standards.

Don't allow other states to determine who can safely carry a concealed weapon in Minnesota!

Don't allow dangerous criminals from states with weak or nonexistant permit to carry laws more freedom to carry a gun in our state than law-abiding Minnesotans!

Don't put our law enforcement officers at risk of personal injury and liability by passing this dangerous bill!

The gun lobby has spent millions to try to push this bill through Congress. Protect Minnesota and Giffords' call on Minnesota's elected leadership to remember whom they represent: the people of Minnesota -- not people from other states who want to carry guns here.
