Join us on the last big push of collective action this year to keep Congressman Erik Paulsen and Home Depot accountable. While Congressman Paulsen has declared ambiguous support for a fix to DACA, he voted to pass the "No Sanctuary for Criminals Act" which would require that local law enforcement agencies enforce federal immigration detainers (which are currently voluntary), and further expands categories of offenses that criminalize immigrants. He has refused to meet with constituents in the past. This is unacceptable. Time is running out, and anti-immigrants in DC want us to compromise a DACA fix over enforcement on the backs of our families and communities and we are not down to play political games with our and or community's lives. Joins us and lets all together demand a#CleanDreamAct.
At the same time, janitors in MN who clean The Home Depot were the 1st people to go on strike against Trump. Although the janitors who clean most of the "big box" stores in the Twin Cities won a good contract that’s already produced big improvements for thousands of families, Home Depot won’t answer the phone. Home Depot also refuses to join other corporations like Target and the MN Chamber of Commerce who have publicly committed to#DefendDACA.
Our youth, parents and grandparents have been dreaming and fighting all along, and now it's time to join forces to push Congressman Eric Paulsen to publicly support a clean Dream Act and for The Home Depot to adopt a Responsible Contractor Policy!
Meet us at 3:30pm in Congressmen Erik Paulsen's office for a community accountability meeting. We'll then march down to the The Home Depot on 13100 Valley View Rd, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 to demand that they respond to youth and janitors by supporting a clean Dream Act and adopting a Responsible Contractor Policy.
