Immediate Call To Action - NO KXL

  • Bank of America 2700 Hennepin Avenue Minneapolis, MN, 55408 United States (map)

On November 20th 2017, TransCanada’s proposed $10 Billion Keystone XL Pipeline project was approved by the Nebraska State Public Service Commission. State regulator’s approved the company’s proposed “alternative mainline route”. The Pipeline will transport 830,000 barrels of crude oil from Hardisty, Alberta to Steele City, NE. Three days prior to the Nebraska decision, TransCanada’s Keystone Pipeline spilled over 210,000 gallons into parts of eastern South Dakota. Earlier this year, Trump signed executive orders to allow construction and operation of Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines.

This pipeline will continue the desecration of the land, the water, the climate, and the next 7 generations.

Two big banks located in the Twin Cities that have money invested in the Keystone XL are Bank Of America and Wells Fargo. We need to push these big banks to divest their money from TransCanada, so we can move on to clean green renewable energies for a safe future for Unci Maka, Mother Earth.

We plan to meet at the Bank Of America (2700 Hennepin Ave. Minneapolis, MN 55408) at 3:00 in the parking lot, then we will say a few short words before heading into the bank to let our voices be heard, we will be delivering and reading a letter indigenous leaders from the Twin Cities Indigenous Youth Coalition wrote. After our march, to be discussed at a later time. We will have a rally with local speakers after to close the action with more info about the rest of the nights actions to be discussed during rally.
