Warrant Forgiveness Day
For one day, on May 12, 2018, people dealing with warrant issues in Ramsey County can come and get their issues resolved without the fear of getting arrested.
The county is teaming up with the ACLU of Minnesota, the NAACP, and UJAMAA Place to host a warrant resolution day. Attendees will work with attorneys and judges to address active warrants and take actions to resolve or move forward with any underlying court case.
Mama's Bail Out Day! - Let's help MN moms get home to their kids.
Great Opportunity to help local moms and their families! Here's how to support Mama's Bail Out Day!
Across the US, women are needlessly stuck in prison for non-violent crimes simply because they can't afford to pay bail. Even a short time in prison can destroy lives through loss of jobs, loss of housing, break up of the family. Let's help some MN moms get home to their kids and their lives by Mother's Day.
Anti-protest provisions have been added to Omnibus bills. Call the Governor!
Anti-protest provisions have been slipped into 2 House Omnibus bills, (Public Safety Omnibus and the Transportation Omnibus), making them hard for the Governor to veto.
Last week was a not a great week for women:
Iowa voted to ban all abortions once a fetal heartbeat is detected (6 weeks), except in cases of rape, incest or medical emergency.
Mn House voted to allow employers to deny coverage for birth control as part of the Health & Human Services (& Transportation) Omnibus bill and they also voted against the Protect Access to Contraception (PAC) Act that would have protected no-cost birth control from further attack from the Administration.
Lastly the Mn Senate passed SF2849, the “ultrasound bill”, legislating that doctors must offer patients, who have chosen to have an abortion, the option of viewing an ultrasound (a right patients already have).
Our precious climate, waters and land need your action!
The Omnibus Supplemental Budget Bill (SF3656) currently includes LOTS of anti-environment provisions that are bad for the health and welfare of all Minnesotans and our irreplaceable water and land resources. Please call the Governor and tell him to refuse to sign the bill (SF3656) if it contains the following provisions:

Twin Cities Pride Parade - WMM Official Statement
Twin Cities Pride parade should be a fun, festive event for all, not just a privileged portion of attendees…It has been marketed as and should be a place where marginalized people can feel free to express and celebrate themselves.
Minnesota House Public Safety Omnibus Bill and others need your response NOW!
The MN House Public Safety Omnibus bill (HF2856), to be discussed and possibly voted on Tuesday May 1st, has some problems:
a) It includes 2 anti-protest provisions that are being rolled out across the country and are aimed at chilling dissent, particularly by groups like BLM and Water Protectors.
b) It includes NO gun control provisions. (26 sensible gun law bills are waiting at MN Leg for action to be taken on them.)

4 Bills to Contact Your Legistators and Governor About
As Mn Leg comes into the final stretch of this session, here are some important bills to contact your legislators and the Governor about that you might have missed:
NO to "Guilty by Association" (HF3693/SF3463)
Say NO to this unnecessary legislation designed to stifle important voices fighting to protect our climate, water and land.
“Guilty by Association” (HF3693/SF3463) turns a misdemeanor offense into a felony crime for trespassing on “critical infrastructure” (pipelines) for both the trespasser and those recruiting or educating individuals who do the same.
Really? No gun control bills at all? Come on Minnesota!
Out of 26 gun-control bills introduced in Mn Leg, only 2 have had hearings this 2018 session, and NONE have been passed. And all this in spite of the Parkland shooting, numerous rallies, school Walkouts, national marches, repeated call on lawmakers to institute sensible gun laws. It seems that
