A bill that needs to get a hearing this session and be voted in - a Sex Trafficking Prevention Bill aimed at bringing sex trafficking awareness into the school curriculum. Proposed by an enterprising group of Hopkins High School students (Girls United MN), this bill has bipartisan support.

Call Governor Dayton to offer your thanks for vetoing the pre-emption bill and preventing many of the budgetary cuts and policy changes conservatives were trying to push through under cover.
Call the Governor today and tell him we support him in rejecting bad bills

At the end of the line there is a person who tallies every single bill or issue each caller raises and whether the caller opposed the issue or not – so mention as many issues as you can. You don’t need to go into any further details. Every call matters.
Budget bill negotiation update. And we want “clean” bills that fully fund state services!
With just 3 days left until the end of the MN legislative session, and Republicans proposing massive tax cuts to undercut our state programs, please take a minute to call Governor Dayton to show your support for vetoes on bills that do not support clean budget bills to fully fund state services for K-12 and higher education, health & human services, state government, public safety and the environment.
Then, keep it up with quick calls to the MN Majority Leaders of the MN House & Senate to demand the same. Remember the power we have - our voices will help to keep those programs most important to us properly funded!

“No” to ban on driver’s licenses for undocumented immigrants
Please call or email Governor Mark Dayton and tell him why you are opposed to this provision, that prevents undocumented immigrants from getting driver’s licenses, and ask him to use his power of veto to stop this provision becoming law as part of the Public Safety Bill (HF470).

The ongoing occupation of the Governor’s office, in response to an anti-immigrant provision in the Pubic Safety bill (HF470) is asking for people to join them.
“Reclaim MN: Day of Action for Working Families” is organized by Mainstreet Alliance and many other progressive groups, from now until 7 am Friday morning. In light of the “power-grabbing” bills being pushed right now, this rally calls for people to join them to remind the Legislature who they work for and whose house the Capitol is.

Call to Action: “NO” to new MN Health Insurance bill that mimics ACHA at state-level.
A bill we thought was dead seems to be back on the table and the MN Republicans are trying to gauge local reaction to it, before possibly introducing the bill next session. This state-level bill contains provisions that mimic provisions in the national level ACHA Healthcare bill. It’s critical that we let the legislators know that Minnesota opposes this bill!
