Janus V AFSCME
This week, the Supreme Court ruled (JANUS v AFSCME) that government workers who choose not to join a union cannot be charged a fee for services that the union provides to it's workers. This is a serious blow for organized labor and has lasting harmful effects for ALL workers - at it's minimum, decreasing income equality, equal rights in the workplace, and economic disparities across the country.
The community calls for change following another killing by police. Support these calls by adding your voice!
Following the tragic killing of Thurman Blevins in Minneapolis’ 4th precinct last Saturday - another life lost at the hands of the police, another family devastated, another community traumatized - the community came together to honor Blevins’ life, to protest his death and to call for justice.

Terrible news from the Supreme Court this week dealing serious blows to women’s reproductive rights, marriage equality, immigrant’s rights and workers’ rights. And now conservative but not far-right Justice Anthony Kennedy will retire on July 31st.

The Supreme Court just carried out a devastating attack on the rights of unions & workers. They have announced their ruling in the 'Janus v AFSCME Council 31' case, and as expected they have ruled against unions.

Children must be reunited with their families. Children should not be in detention centers.
More horrors keep emerging on the family separation policy: 2,300 children removed from their parents in 6 weeks; younger kids and toddlers housed in “tender age” shelters; no plan yet on how to reunite kids with their parents!

There are 3 or possibly 4 more days left of the Public Utility Commission meeting to discuss the pros and cons of the Line 3 project. At the end of these meetings, the PUC will decide if Line 3 goes ahead.

It's WRONG to Separate Families!
The WH policy of separating children from their parents to discourage illegal travel to the US is unjustifiable and unacceptable. The ACLU says over 1,000 children have been taken from their families in the last month alone - the parents don’t know where they are, when they will see them again, or if they will accompany them should they be deported.

End of 2018 Session But There's More To Do
2018 session finished last night in a mad rush and a flurry of bills getting passed in the final hours and even minutes. The Governor now has 2 weeks to either veto these bills or sign them into law. This is the time to let the Governor know what you think of these bills.
