WMMN-AF Candidate Endorsements: U.S. Congress

Election day is less than a week away! More than 420,000 Minnesotans have already cast their ballots in person or by mail in the first five weeks of early voting, which is a big jump over the 282,000 votes at this same point in the 2022 Election. But that doesn’t mean we can let up. Let’s continue to build the momentum for the largest voter turnout in Minnesota history. We want results too big to question!

Women’s March Minnesota - Action Fund (WMMN-AF) wants accountability for the Trump regime and an end to the corruption, cruelty, illegal wars, and high costs. We’re committed to electing strong progressives across Minnesota that will protect our state, our communities, and our loved ones from the cruel MAGA agenda. Because here in Minnesota, we protect our neighbors.

For Minnesota’s congressional districts, we recognize the need for progressive leadership. With so much on the line, we need strong congressional representation in Washington that brings Minnesotan values to programs and policies that will stem this administration’s overreach and illegal activities.

As such, WMMN-AF is pleased to announce the following endorsements for the 2026 General Election:

U.S. CONGRESS

Jake Johnson - U.S. Congress (MN-01)

Jake Johnson — who is up against incumbent Rep. Finstad — is running for Congress to help bring down costs, take on corruption, and invest in small towns. Jake grew up in southern Minnesota, worked hard to get to the middle class, and has been a math teacher for the past 20 years. His campaign platform includes: increasing access to childcare; undoing recent cuts to Medicaid and SNAP; and protecting Social Security, Medicare, and Veteran’s benefits. Jake is endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Reproductive Freedom for All, NRDC Action Fund, MN AFL-CIO, End Citizen United, Education Minnesota, and more.

Matt Little - U.S. Congress (MN-02)

Matt Little has previously served as a Lakeville City Council member, the Mayor of Lakeville, and then State Senator for SD-58 for 4 years. He currently owns his own law firm. He’s spent his career “fighting for the underdogs,” and now he’s ready to take that passion to Congress. Matt’s priorities include: affordable and accessible healthcare for all; affordable childcare; reproductive freedom; getting ICE OUT of Minnesota; LGBTQ+ rights; and more. Matt is endorsed by Planned Parenthood of MN Political Action Fund, Moms Demand Action, Clean Water Action, Education Minnesota, Friends of the Boundary Waters, many unions, and more.

Kelly Morrison - U.S. Congress (MN-03)

A lifelong Minnesotan, Kelly Morrison served four years in the Minnesota House and two years in the State Senate before winning election to Congress in 2024. Additionally, Kelly was a physician for over 20 years, and she’s the FIRST and ONLY pro-choice OBGYN elected to the U.S. Congress to date. Kelly’s priorities include making healthcare more accessible and affordable, taking on corruption, and working to defend our rights and our democracy. Kelly is endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Reproductive Freedom for All, Moms Demand Action, Education Minnesota, SEIU, MN AFL-CIO, Women Winning, and more.

Betty McCollum - U.S. Congress (MN-04)

Betty McCollum previously served as a Minnesota State Representative, and then went on to become only the second woman elected to the U.S. Congress from Minnesota in 2001. Betty is known for being a champion for the environment — notably to protect the Boundary Waters and to end the use of PFAS in everyday products — for reproductive rights, and equality. Her endorsements include Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Women Winning, Moms Demand Action, NOW PAC, Feminist Majority, Clean Water Action, Friends of the Boundary Waters, many unions, and more.

Ilhan Omar - U.S Congress (MN-05)

Ilhan Omar was elected as a Minnesota State Representative 2017, and then to Congress in 2019, where she has represented CD-5 ever since. While in Congress, Ilhan has a record of success including: working on the Inflation Reduction Act; reducing or cancelling student debt; Medicare for All; increasing access to housing and affordable healthcare; and more. Ilhan is endorsed by Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Women Winning, Moms Demand Action, Education Minnesota, National Education Association, Take Action MN, Sierra Club, Clean Water Action, and more.

Doug Chapin - U.S. Congress (MN-06)

Doug’s priorities include: affordable single payer healthcare; commonsense immigration reform; reproductive rights; LGBTQ+ rights; and climate action. He is endorsed by Education Minnesota, National Education Association, AFSCME, Friends of the Boundary Waters, and more.

Erik Osberg - U.S. Congress (MN-07)

Erik’s priorities include: defending the Constitution; affordable healthcare for all; stronger schools; reproductive rights; equal rights; sensible gun laws; supporting farms and rural communities; and more. Erik is endorsed by MN AFL-CIO, Education Minnesota, National Education Association, and Friends of the Boundary Waters.

Trina Swanson - U.S. Congress (MN-08)

Trina Swanson — who is up against incumbent Rep. Stauber — is running because she believes her district deserves leadership focused on affordability, stability, and strong local communities. Her priorities include: affordable, accessible healthcare for all; affordable living costs; clean water; and protecting the Boundary Waters. She is endorsed by Education Minnesota, Women Winning, Feminist Majority, Emily’s List, Indivisible, and more.
